p/s: The Library BOD and also the BOD for the Library Week must come.

I'll announce the commitee members for this party tomorrow.....

Personal Thoughts by Mark Lester

Library Week, ha, don't remind me,
How beautiful it was,
Crime has never looked so good,
It deserved applause.

Blame it on the librarians,
Reading rooms transformed,
Games, fame and shame,

Oh, how students came.

Violence was so popular,

Students cashed in,
As they learnt and gasped,
At the gruesome truth of sin.

The triple murder,
Of Justice, Pants and Smith,
A story so solid,
It was an instant hit.

Alas, perfection eluded us,

We had flaws too,

It's just human error,
No chance to redo.

Debt systems and H1N1,

Problems weighed a ton,

Games too easy to win,

Give us a break, man.

But put yourselves on the back,

We fixed and didn't slack,

Now, can we fix that hole in the roof,

It's ugly like hell.

Praise must be given,
So I must say this,

Or regret it in the future,

Here's my goodbye kiss.

Form 5s',

This was you finale,

You guys did well,

I'll miss you like hell.

And for your future,

Remember lessons learnt,

From trials and tribulations,

Never should they be burnt.

That's all I have,

A humble poem from mud,

Hope you guys liked it,

Au revoir.

MARK LESTER

Voice out your opinion!

Hey y'all!

Please pass the message to your beloved librarian
friends to vote for the date for the Library Week after
party.

And yes, we would like everyone (ONLY LIBRARIAN that is.)
to attend this party specially organized for the librarians
that did a great job to make the library week a success and
the efforts on baking the cupcakes that made the most profit
to the library.

I would personally like to thank Adam, our
vice president of the library for doing such a job well done on
the cupcakes. Though it might turn out to be a diabetes problem
but it was selling fast and made the library a year richer.
Without him, the profit that we made will be so much lower than
it has been this year.

Anyway, if the time and the date is settled then let's discuss about
the games that we should have during the party. Here's a list of
competitions and games that I suggested. P/S : Your opinion
in the c*box is greatly appreciated.

Games/ Contest (In team or individual)

* Twister
* musical chair
* Truth or Dare
* Limbo
* Folding Newspapers
* 'Who Am I?' / Silent Charades (Guessing game)
* 'Pin the Donkey'
* Pass the mystery gift
* Treasure Hunt
* Pictionary (Guess the drawings)
* Spoon & Ping Pong ball race
* Swimming race
* 'Pass the Message' / Whistling Game
* Mail Call

This game is usually played as an icebreaker. Have your group sit in a circle so there are no gaps. (It may be helpful to use chairs if possible.) Someone stands in the center of the circle and says, "Mail Call for everyone who is wearing red." Then all the people who have red on get up and switch chairs with someone else who had red on. Players cannot sit in a chair immediately beside them or in their own chair. The object is for the person in the middle to get a chair before someone else can. It's similar to musical chairs.

Note: The person in the middle does not have to be wearing red. Be creative, some other examples you can use are: "Mail Call for everyone who ... has a dog, has a sister, likes to eat pizza, drove in a car to get here, wears braces, hates math." The list is endless!

* Guess What?

This is another relay game. Divide the group evenly. Have the first person from each team run across the room to a paper sack (each team has a sack.) In the bag are a bunch of different foods wrapped in tin foil. Each person has to take a food article and eat it - no matter what it is! Then run back to their team and let the next person go. Some food ideas: candy, liverwurst, pizza, or onions. Warn everyone that they may be in for a surprise! Check with the youth about food allergies before playing this game.

* Mafia

Intro:
"This game is the best party game I have ever played."

Number of People:
You need at least 3 people, the more the better.

Equipment:
A deck of cards, or another way to secretly determine which people will be the "Mafia", also known as the murder, healers, spy and citizens.

Concept:
Imagine the group of people are mafia members in a meeting, however the group has been infiltrated by a small number of spy(ies), and the mafia members know this, they have also been informed of the number of spy and the healers will have to heal the people whom the mafias are killing.

The mafia will not rest until all of the spy are dead, but as soon as there is an equal number of cops to mafia members the cops have enough power to capture the mafia members and win while the healers can heal one person at a time to make this game interesting but if the healers die, there will be less people playing this game which increases mafias chances to win . The group votes to decide who to kill.

Instructions:
For every 3 people there will be one undercover cop (you can tweak this ratio to make it harder or easier). Say there are 9 people: get 5 aces, and 4 other cards, put them in a pile and have each person pull a card, if you get an ace you are a cop.

Choose one person to be the announcer, the announcer says "everyone put your heads down and close your eyes"
Wait 5 seconds, then say "Mafias open your eyes and determine who your partners are"
Wait 5 seconds, then say "Mafias choose who you want to kill"
(Let them point at one of the person to confirm that they want to kill that person)
Wait 5 seconds, then say "Mafias close your eyes"
Then
Wait 5 seconds, then say "Spies open your eyes"
Wait 5 seconds, then say "Spies determine the mafias"
(Spies will have to come out with a conclusion by pointing at the person whom they suspect is the mafia)
Then the announcer will nod or shake her/his head saying that that is the wrong answer and the spies have to figure it out who are the mafias)
Wait 5 seconds, then say "Spies close your eyes"
Then
Wait 5 seconds, then say "Healers wake up and determine who your partners are"
Wait 5 seconds, then say "Healers choose who you want to heal"
(The healers can also choose to heal him/herself to make sure they survive or suspect they are the victim)
Wait 5 seconds, then say "Healers close your eyes"
Wait 5 seconds, then say "everyone wake up, rise up/ open your eyes"

If one of the person dies, (could be spy/healer/citizen) the announcer will say,
"On a gloomy day, someone was murdered/killed, no one could save her/him. The dead person is ___. (could be spy/healer/citizen) So that person is dead and no longer be playing.

If the healer heal the correct person, that person survive and the announcer will be saying,
"On a sunny day, no one died thanks to the healers."

Then the real fun part begins.

There are no rules to the game, except you cannot touch anybody or their card. If you are an Mafia you will have to lie a lot. If you are in a religious group you may want to make a rule that you can't "swear on the bible", or "swear on your dead grandmothers grave". You can ask anyone any question. The spies will have to make the citizen to trust them or can either believe the mafias' saying. You will notice Mafias acting suspiciously, when a mafia is being questioned his/her partner may try to shift attention away from that person onto someone else... there are a lot of strategies that can be used.

When the group is coming to a decision whether they want to kill a person, one person will raise his/her hand and say "I'm voting to kill so and so", then other people will raise their hand of they agree, as soon as the majority of people have voted this person is killed and they must reveal their card.

The "majority" is as follows: If there are 6 people alive, then there will be 5 people voting against one person, there must be 3 votes in favor of killing the person. If there are 7 people in the group, there will be 6 people voting against one person, there must be 4 votes in favor of killing the person.

The game ends when all spies or citizens or mafias are killed, and the winners will be the most survivors.

Variations:
You can have any dead members still be apart of the game, they just can't vote to make this game more interesting.

Generally dead mafia/spy should stop playing entirely, they will only hurt the spy by giving away their partner(s). If the game is competitive I recommend the dead spy/citizen leave the room - although this isn't as fun.

* and more.

Please give opinion on the games that I have listed down. Let me know everything, please do comment. Your co-operation is greatly appreciated.
